Run the pipe is one of the first finishes you learn from a single leg takedown. It is very basic and highly effective when done correctly. Unfortunately, many people consistently run the pipe wrong and many others don’t even bother to try it anymore.

Run the Pipe Key Points:
-Keep your forehead in his ribs the entire time. If you swing your head away from his body you are doing the move incorrectly.
-Your shoulder has to be positioned above his knee.
-Step with one foot, then step with the other, squat down and apply pressure above his knee with your shoulder as you squat down. Step, step, squat.
Grip When You Run the Pipe:
Don’t give up on it, if it doesn’t work at first. As in all of wrestling you have to drill it many times as DRILLING FOR WRESTLING pointed out. If you do practice it enough, it could end up being one of the safest, most effective, and most used single leg finishes in your arsenal.
